About Dogwood Church

Dear Dogwood Family and Friends,

Thank you. Thank you for your patience as we journey through this Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you for faithfully participating in our Sunday services online each week. Thank you for gathering with your LifeGroups online each week. Thank you for giving your time, talents, and treasure to ensure that our Dogwood Real Life Center continues to help people in need.

Remember, the church is not a building, but rather the Christ-followers who belong to the church. And while our ministry looks different over these weeks, the mission of Dogwood Church to make more and better Christ-followers who love God and love people remains the same. Our staff, elders, and leadership continue to consider our Dogwood re-gathering plan prayerfully. We are all eager to gather again for worship, but now is not the time to resume our large public gatherings. There are several reasons re-gathering for public worship services is not feasible at this time, but here is the main reason. To comply with current CDC guidelines for the well-being of our congregation, our worship center can only seat approximately 100 people per service. Before the pandemic crisis, Dogwood averaged 1300 people in worship participation on Sundays.

Therefore, we will continue gathering online for our Sunday worship experiences for the near future. Remember, we make this decision out of love and faith – not fear (2 Timothy 1:7 and 1 Cor 16:14). We love you, and we love our neighbors in our community.

However, we recognize the need for connection and the desire to resume meeting together. So as part of the first steps for re-gathering, we encourage you to begin the process of meeting in-person with your LifeGroups to engage in the Sunday worship experience together. Many of you already meet at group member’s homes in backyards, front porches, and driveways to study and watch together. The outdoor patio areas of our Dogwood campus are now available to reserve for your LifeGroup meetings. Contact Lisa Gonzalez on our Discipleship team at lgonzalez@dogwoodchurch.org to reserve a spot for your group. Our Discipleship team will provide the latest CDC guidelines and additional resources for you and your LifeGroup.

Dogwood is still a very healthy church. We never closed our ministry. You as a church family continue to connect with people in new ways, serve our community, and lead people to faith in Jesus! We continue to trust God, follow His guidance, and believe the best is yet to come!

Allison and I love you, miss you, and thank God for you!
